School History

The School of Cosmetic Science is the first educational institution that offers teaching programs in cosmetic science and beauty technology in Thailand. In 2005 the School was founded by the first President of the University, Professor Dr. Wanchai Sirichana, and the first Dean of the School, Associate Professor Dr. Panvipa Krisdaphong, who realized the importance of the cosmetic and beauty industry in Thailand that could possess the high potential to grow as a crucial part of the country's economic development. Nevertheless, there was the inadequacy of directly graduated personnel to support work in this field. In the first year of establishment, the programs in cosmetic science were offered for bachelor’s degree at Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, and for master’s degree at Phanjaphum building, Bangkok. The core objective of the programs is to produce manpower to support the growth of the country's industrial business.

In 2009, the School offered the program of beauty technology which aimed to emphasize  producing graduates to have expertise in the development of individual personalities and beauty for supporting high-growth beauty businesses. Moreover, in 2010 the school provided a program in cosmetic science for the doctoral degree to produce graduates with high expertise in cosmetic science research and to be the main force of cosmetic science research to further develop the country.

In the year 2018, the School of Cosmetic Science produced 1,039 graduates with bachelor’s degrees and master's degrees. The school's graduates are a vital force in the cosmetic and beauty industry, spanning the upstream to the downstream production chain.
