Programme’s Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Creative Cosmetic Science Innovation is an interdisciplinary program that integrates knowledge from multiple disciplines related to research, research and development (R&D), cosmetic innovation, cosmetic product development, and innovation creation. The program is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and research competencies to generate new knowledge and innovative outcomes that contribute to strengthening the nation's capacity and competitiveness in cosmetic innovation and product development.
The program promotes learning through problem-solving, self-directed study, and independent inquiry, enabling students to develop advanced knowledge, practical experience, and research skills in modern laboratories equipped with standardized scientific instruments and facilities for education, experimentation, and research.
The teaching and learning approach emphasizes that students actively construct their own knowledge, based on Constructivist Theory. Learning activities integrate both Cognitive Constructivism, which focuses on individual knowledge construction, and Social Constructivism, which emphasizes knowledge construction through social interaction. This integrated approach aims to develop graduates with advanced research capabilities, innovation development skills, and creativity in cosmetic science. In addition, the program fosters professional ethics and integrity, leadership skills, lifelong self-directed learning, and the competencies required to compete effectively in the international arena.
